3 Things About Me.
I wouldn’t be alive if my Great Grandad, a musician, accepted an offer to play on a certain ship… The Titanic! Here’s a link for more.
I have a blue belt in Ju-Jitsu. Don’t worry I got this 20 years ago and haven’t been since 2002!
I used to work in my local kennels. Years ago in September, I got bitten on the right side of my face by a male, brindle-coloured, English bull terrier. 3 years later, in September, I got bitten on my right arm by a different, yes you’ve got it, male, brindle-coloured English bull terrier!
1. Sunrise or sunset and why?
I love both of them. But if I had to pick one then, sunrise. I just love the colours of lilac and pink and the fact it’s the end of the night.
2. What book has had a lasting effect on you and your life?
I’m an avid reader and could pick dozens of books. I suppose ‘Jane Eyre’. My grandma bought me a copy years ago. Even now, I’m appalled at the child cruelty it describes towards Jane and still cry when I read about Jane’s teenage friend, Helen, whose life was so miserable that she was happy to die.
Also, I think most women can identify with Jane. To me, equal rights means that you have the choice to decide what you want to do with your life; not what is expected of you.
3. Why do you keep blogging, what’s its value for you?
I ask myself this most days! 🤣
Seriously, there are times I feel a bit disheartened when I look at my stats etc. but then I feel encouraged by the support of other bloggers.
I’ve always wanted to write and remember starting but not finishing a writer’s course. I used to keep diaries as a teenager. Thankfully, I got rid of those ages ago!
I hadn’t explored my creative side for years. When I learned about blogging, I knew that finally, I can realise my dream of being a writer. I love researching and putting it all together. And it’s heartwarming when people read my posts.
4. What cruel and unusual punishment would you like to exact on the evilest of evil people?
OMG, 😱 I hate cruelty! I can’t watch it on the T.V. If I see any torture I feel sick inside, even though I know it’s not real. As you can see, I’m not the person to ask! I think the cruellest punishment is being slowly burned alive.
5. What’s your last thought as you go to sleep at night?
Where are the cats! If they’re indoors, they always wake us up! 😼😼
Bloggers I Nominate for this Award.
I nominate anyone who wants to do this. And:
Michelle at https://boomerecocrusader.com We all need to be more environmentally conscious.
Francine at https://phrenssynnes.wordpress.com/ Francine writes about a variety of subjects including recipes and book reviews.
Isobel at https://castlesandturrets.com/ I love history!
Caz at https://invisiblyme.com/ We all take our health for granted. Caz writes about what it’s like living with chronic health conditions.
Lindsay at https://liveparentteachrepeat.com/ I laugh out loud every time I read her posts. (Like most of Smelly Sock’s posts.)
https://unwantedlife.me/ This blog is about a subject that needs more transparency; mental health issues. It’s always well-researched and the author also writes moving accounts of his own battles.
James at https://perfectmanifesto.com/ James writes about self-improvement, fatherhood and health. I found his posts relatable, even though I’m not a father, obviously!
Katherine and Julia at https://thenourishcookbook.com/blog/ This is a blog written by a mother and daughter team and it shares delicious recipes and Julia’s inspiring recovery from annorexia.
Dominique at http://myadhdandi.ca/ Dominique writes about her experiences living with ADHD; an often misunderstood condition.
Finally, Ena at https://prettyplusandproud.wordpress.com/ A blog that I recently started following. Ena writes about body confidence and shares inspiring self-acceptance quotes. We all need a bit of encouragement at times.
1. If a film was going to be made about your life, who would you want to play you?
2. Who is your favourite musician or group?
3. Coast or the country?
4. Early bird or night owl?
5. If you believe in God what would you ask him?
My Posts I’d like to Share.
This post shares a bit more about me.
As you can see it’s an early post but it’s the first one that I remember people showing interest in my work.
Simply, because I’m at my happiest when I’m outside enjoying nature.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to comment down below.
